ALMOST MY BEST DAY EVER. 04-05-12

So many little things today that made it such a goooood day…

TOP LEFT-We had the 90’s channel on at work today and I don’t care what you say, it is by far the best decade of music. Hands down. All in a row, give or take a few songs right when I got to work My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, Bittersweet Symphony (no joke) by The Verve, Every Little Thing You Do by Soul For Real and California Love by 2pac came on. Each and EVERY ONE of those songs make me SOOOOO HAPPY for so many reasons. BOTTOM LEFT- I was scrolling through my pictures to show some one a certain photo and I came across this one of my niece from a couple of weeks ago. If this doesn’t at least make you chuckle then you have no soul. MIDDLE- I’m totally going to sound like a little 3rd grade school-girl right now but I had a meeting with my homie and I’ll call him my mentor at this point Manny in West Hollywood at Coffee Bean and E from Entourage walked in!!!!!!!!!! If you don’t know me I’ll explain…I don’t watch much television, but Entourage was faithfully the only show I made a point to clear my schedule for every Sunday night. If not Sunday night I would wake up first thing Monday morning and watch that biz On-Demand. And I don’t typically get star struck but I literally sat there with my jaw open and stared at him like an idiot. I didn’t know what to do, i’ll admit it. Now if I could only meet Big Boy from Power 106 and Dr Dre my life would pretty much be complete. TOP RIGHT- You know why I’m smart? Because when I got my manicure the other day I took my own nail polish :) I know how my hands get after 2 hours of work so being able to touch that biz up keeps em looking fresssssssh. BOTTOM RIGHT- A co-worker was eating cinnamon toast in the break room today and the smell was radiating throughout the entire back room and literally stopped me in my tracks. Such a goood down home smell!!!

BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO… 04-04-12

I had the day off, so I got my life in order. But while I was doing so these things happened to me… TOP LEFT- I mean who doesn’t like drinking beer out of a wine glass? It tastes so much better! TOP RIGHT- If you haven’t seen the show Shameless then you need to get with it. I did this with my wiener in my lap. I love how he just snuggles all the time. Seriously makes me smile EVERY TIME. MIDDLE- I want a candle that smells like these 3 items. And basil. OMG they are so good. BOTTOM LEFT- I found this “All About Me” book I had filled out in 1999 in a drawer a couple of weeks ago and I left it on the counter. So while I was getting my life in order and putting things away I started to read it, and these pages made me crack up. BOTTOM RIGHT- Along with using the first song I hear of the day to set the tone, I also believe there are certain songs relevant to my life that come on at specific times from the “music gods” to kind of tell me everything is going to be all good. Well…I was feeling a little down yesterday and at the peak of my feeling down-ness Bittersweet Symphony came on my Spotify. That song has so many memories I can’t name here because you’ll get bored outta your mind and I’ll get carpal tunnel so I’ll just leave it at it completely made me sit and smile for a minute because the music universe was telling me so-and-so isn’t worth getting all down about. :) LOVE IT.

PEACE, LOVE AND GOOD WEATHER 04-03-12

Please forgive me for skipping a couple of days as I have worked 22 of the last 48 hrs. Which means no time for picture taking. Today is my day off! Sort of. At any rate I am just so excited to finally start this thing, I have to catch up all of my days to today so I can brighten everyone’s day! And hopefully help you brighten your own day by also taking time to appreciate 5 things…

TOP LEFT- I never get my car washed. Ever. So I figured today would be a good day to get her bathed. While my wash was free from getting an oil change next door, I was most excited because the man who was doing my free wash went to hand me my keys and told me that washing the inside isn’t included. But he proceeded to do it anyway because he thought I was “nice”. Yessss. MIDDLE LEFT- I think it is so fun what a little nail color can do to your look and your mood. So I acted accordingly. BOTTOM LEFT- I don’t mean to be “that girl”, but sweet shit on the weather today in LA. The days right after it is windy and rainy in LA are undeniably breathtaking. TOP RIGHT- DJ Tina T’s “Vegas Night’s” mix. Listened to it 4 times today. Over and over again. All day. It’ll def keep you moving. BOTTOM RIGHT- Licking your fingers after eating Cheez-Its and Cheetos is the BEST!!!

LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR BAD WINE AND BAD SHOES 03-31-12

I received a phone call from my sister a few days before today to please be her guest on a party bus to Los Olives/San Ynez for a Bachelor/Bachelorette party wine tasting and then beer tasting in Carpenteria, CA. Of course I would go :)

CENTER- My sister and I arriving on time to get on the bus. I worked at 4 am, got ready and made it to the party by 10 am. Punctuality is key. TOP LEFT- Don’t drink and drive. All keys left behind. Even though we were on a bus, its the thought that counts. TOP RIGHT- Sarloos winery has a wine and cupcake pairing for their 6 wine tastings. Such an amazing idea in this modern world of cupcake obsession. BOTTOM LEFT- I’ve become a beer snob over the years so being able to take a tour of the Island Brewery and learning/watching how beer is brewed made my life! These 3 containers are different types of barley used to start the brewing process for different brews. BOTTOM RIGHT- My shoes match the Bachelorette’s dog. I’m almost certain he was staring at them wondering if his homie had gotten the axe. DISCLAIMER: they are 100% fake. Please don’t splash me with blood. But you can pour flour over my head cause that was some funny business.

I found myself exhausted after Shelly left. But this is what my day consisted of…

TOP LEFT-I like to tell myself the first song I hear on the radio is going to set the tone for the day. KDAY gave me “Nuttin But a G Thang” by my boo Dr Dre. Enough said. TOP RIGHT- JANICE. Friends. Enough said. Well I guess I’ll say more…I’ve been watching Friends Season 1 on DVD lately because it just automatically makes me smile, but “The One With The Candy Hearts” was the first one to come on today. And I love Janice. Good for her! MIDDLE- #TRINI2012 TRINIFEST!!We made a co-workers 21 bday party an all out festival at a local bar with a performance from the one and only Plastizine People. BOTTOM LEFT- My wiener makes me so happy 365 days a year. BOTTOM RIGHT- Go to Coffee Bean and get an Ultimate Mocha with extra beans and caramel syrup in it. You’ll thank me later.

TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA 03-27/28-12

This one right here is a mix of a couple of days because I had just come up with the idea of brightening everyones lives with the small ways to appreciate life. :)

One of my best friends from Las Vegas came to town so we found ourselves partaking in spontaneous events throughout LA. But somehow we ended up at the Staples Center 2 nights in a row.

BOTTOM LEFT-Darius Rucker!!!! How does hearing Hootie songs LIVE 15 yrs later not make you happy?? We went for the Lady Antebellum concert, but I don’t listen to country so I was MOST EXCITED to see the special surprise that was Darius Rucker. He will forever remind me of my dad and my sister and I rockin out at the top of our lungs. BOTTOM RIGHT- If you live in LA or are visiting LA you MUST go to The Dime. ALWAYS the best music and drinks. ALWAYS. Kind of like listening to 93.5 DAY with an entire bar full of people bobbin their heads to Dr Dre and Eazy E right a long with you. CENTER- Night #2 took us back to Staple for the Clippers/Suns game. I’m a Lakers fan through and through, but i’ll always support good sports with my Purple and Gold Chuck Taylors on. TOP RIGHT- Shelly has never heard of a Taco Man so I had to enlighten her with some bomb tacos down the street from The Dime on Fairfax. Street Meat at it’s finest. Damn you taco man. I’m pretty sure I ate my weight in all things carnage that night. But it was daaaaamn good!
